It is with regret that I must announce my departure from the band. Make no mistake, the recent opening of a certain skatepark has an awful lot to do with it. It was fun, but it's time for me to move on. Thanks guys.

Yes, we've finally settled on a new name !!!! Big thanks here to Lyn (Rob's lady) for the idea.

23rd June 2009

The Playhouse gig on the 28th wont be going ahead now :-( Watch this space for any new info.

11th June 2009

After a few months delay (due mostly to an injured drummer) we finally returned to the stage at The Playhouse in Aotea Square on Sunday May 24th. Due to a Warriors game we had to be finished by 4pm so the set had to be shortened but things still went really well. My highlight was "Locomotive Breath" which was a real headbanger and sounding great for a song that has only been in the set for a few short weeks. I know there were issues with the mix but we'll sort that out.

Next Playhouse gig 2pm June 28th.

The first demo (our version of "Psycho Killer") is finished and the results are pretty pleasing. The vocal and overall sound is pretty raw but that's best suited for a song with such punk roots. Once we finally decide on a name (aaaarrrgh!) I'll put it up on the web on MySpace or somewhere like that.

23rd December 2008

The band formerly known as Ironic and Too Ironic finally debuted its new line up at a party at Barry's place in Manukau on the 19th December 2008. We were hoping Brian Weatherly would make a guest appearence but he called in sick. The band played pretty well considering our patchy buildup and the fact that none of us played live for nearly 18 months. For me the best songs were "Creep" (my Spookers persona coming through in the chorus) and "Horse with no name" (America meets vintage Floyd). Overall, the gig was a success and a big thanks to all those who helped put this thing together.

Hopefully there'll be another party later on this summer. The band's plans for 2009 have yet to be finalised but there will certainly be some demos recorded in the coming months and with a bit of luck a return to the Weekend Warriors. Whatever happens, expect a return to the live circuit in 2009.
